Abstract Submission and Deadlines
All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the WBC submission website. Abstracts of no more than 2500 characters (with spaces, excluding the authors, affiliation/country) should be submitted following the instructions provided below. Hard copy abstract submissions and emailed abstracts will not be considered.
The submitting author must indicate if the abstract is being submitted for oral presentation/poster or poster only. The scientific committee will make the decision to which format the presentation will be accepted.
To be considered, all abstracts must be submitted between September 1 and October 15, 2011.
If the abstracts are accepted, they will be published as submitted (no additional manuscript is required). All accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress Proceedings.
All the abstracts will be peer-reviewed and evaluated on a scale of 1 to 3 (1 – poor, 2 – average, 3 - good) on the following topics:
- Content - hypothesis valid and relevant?
- Content - sufficient data or cases?
- New information?
- Conclusions – justified by the present data?
Due to the time between abstract submission and the congress, preliminary data is acceptable as part of the abstract, as well as initial conclusions.
This will allow abstracts to be assigned to one of the following categories:
- Oral presentation – 10 minute oral presentation followed by 5 minutes of discussion
- Poster – each poster will be displayed for a period of time, requiring the presence of the author for at least 1 hour during the poster sessions
- Needing revision – abstracts that despite the relevance of the theme are poorly structured, have faults in the language or in the contents, will be sent back to the authors for corrections.
- Refused – abstracts that have insufficient quality or relevance for the congress will be refused.
